A: The ReNu Collective is all about giving great clothing and accessories a second chance. Through our ReNu to You Shop, you can discover quality new and like-new pieces at prices that make sense. Through our Closet ReFresh Services, we help people turn the hidden value in their closets into cash with a simple, personal, and stress-free process.

We believe in making sustainable fashion more accessible by helping great pieces find a new home instead of ending up forgotten in the back of a closet. One of our favorite parts? Connecting a shopper with something they never thought they could afford at a price they can feel good about.

Q: Why was The ReNu Collective started?

A: The ReNu Collective was created to offer a more personal and rewarding approach to resale. We wanted to make it easier for people to refresh their closets, earn some extra cash, and make sure quality pieces continue to be loved instead of going to waste.

By choosing resale, you're not only refreshing your own wardrobe—you're helping make fashion more affordable, sustainable, and accessible for someone else too.

Q: Why should I shop the ReNu to You Shop instead of another resale store?

A: Because we believe great style shouldn't come with a huge price tag. We carefully source quality pieces and keep our overhead low, which helps us offer amazing finds at prices that make sense. Every item is personally selected, and you never know what hidden gem you'll discover next.

Q: How is The ReNu Collective able to offer competitive prices to sellers?

A: Unlike many large resale chains that have to process thousands of items as quickly as possible, we take a more personal approach. We look at each item individually and consider its brand, condition, style, and resale potential instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all process. That allows us to put together thoughtful, fair offers based on each unique wardrobe.

Q: How do you determine the prices you offer sellers?

A: We regularly research resale market trends, recent selling prices, customer demand, and inventory across multiple platforms. Every item is evaluated based on its brand, condition, style, demand, expected resale value, and our current inventory needs to ensure we're making fair and informed offers.

Q: Why should I sell my items to The ReNu Collective instead of a chain resale store?

A: At The ReNu Collective, you're more than just another bag of clothes. We take the time to look at each item individually and provide a more personal, transparent experience from start to finish. Our goal is to make selling simple, stress-free, and to offer fair, thoughtful prices for the quality pieces you've loved.

Q: What brands do you purchase?

A: We love elevated everyday brands, boutique labels, premium denim, activewear, contemporary fashion, select designer pieces, shoes, and accessories. You can find a more detailed list of our preferred brands in our Seller's Packet, but if you're ever unsure about an item, just ask—we're always happy to help.

Q: What condition do my items need to be in?

A: We generally look for items that are New with Tags (NWT), New Without Tags (NWOT), Excellent Used Condition (EUC), or Good Used Condition (GUC). Items with significant wear, stains, holes, strong odors, or damage may not qualify for purchase. When in doubt, send us a photo or reach out—we're always happy to answer questions.

Q: Do you purchase every item submitted?

A: No. While we'd love to, not every item is the right fit for ReNu. Each piece is carefully evaluated based on brand, condition, authenticity, market demand, and our current inventory needs.

Q: What is the Commitment Fee?

A: The Commitment Fee helps cover the cost of shipping, packaging, processing, and evaluating your items. Depending on the ReFresh service you choose and the size and value of your accepted sale, part or all of your fee may be credited back to you.

Q: What happens if I decline an offer?

A: No problem! If you decide not to accept our offer, your items can be returned to you. Return shipping and handling fees may apply.

Q: What happens to items ReNu doesn't purchase?

A: Depending on the ReFresh service you selected and the preferences you chose, declined items can either be returned to you or donated to a local charity.

Q: When will I get paid?

A: Once you accept your offer and everything has been processed, we'll send your payment. Our goal is to make the process as quick and easy as possible.

Q: Is The ReNu Collective environmentally friendly?

A: Absolutely. Every time a quality piece gets a second chance instead of ending up in a landfill, it's a win. By giving clothing and accessories a new life, we're helping reduce textile waste and making it easier for people to shop more sustainably.

Important Information for All ReFresh Services

ReFresh Commitment Fee

The ReFresh Commitment Fee helps cover the costs of your selected ReFresh service, including shipping materials, prepaid shipping labels, processing, and evaluation.

  • If no items are accepted for purchase, the Commitment Fee will be retained by The ReNu Collective.

  • If items are accepted, a partial or full credit may be applied toward your purchase amount.

  • Exceptional submissions may qualify for a full Commitment Fee credit.

  • Your purchased ReFresh service may be used for up to six (6) months from the date of purchase.

Prepaid Shipping

Prepaid shipping materials and labels are provided based on the ReFresh service you select.

To help us provide the correct shipping label, please give accurate item counts and descriptions when completing your worksheet or intake form.

If additional shipping costs result from incorrect information provided by the seller, those charges may be the seller's responsibility. If ReNu significantly underestimates shipping costs, we may provide a partial or full reimbursement at our discretion.

Return Shipping

If you choose not to accept your final purchase offer for certain items, return shipping and handling fees may apply.

Returned items will be shipped once any applicable return shipping fees have been paid.

Blind ReFresh

For Blind ReFresh submissions, sellers are responsible for return shipping costs for any items they choose not to sell.

If you prefer not to have declined items returned, you may choose to have them donated instead. Donation requests must be made before final payment is issued.

Express ReFresh

Express ReFresh is designed to be our quickest and simplest no-return service.

  • Accepted items are paid at $1.00–$4.00 per pound, depending on overall quality.

  • High-end or exceptional items may qualify for a higher payout.

  • A prepaid shipping label will be provided for the agreed-upon shipment size, while sellers are responsible for packaging materials and any additional shipping costs.

  • Items that don't meet our current buying standards won't be included in the accepted weight or payment calculation.

  • Once submitted through the Express ReFresh service, all items become the property of The ReNu Collective and are not eligible for return.

Please Note

While we'd love to purchase everything, not every item is the right fit for ReNu.

Every item is evaluated based on:

  • Brand

  • Condition

  • Authenticity

  • Market demand

  • Current inventory needs

Items that are heavily worn, damaged, stained, altered, counterfeit, or outside our current buying needs may not qualify for purchase.

Submission of items does not guarantee purchase.

General Terms & Conditions

1. About The ReNu Collective

The ReNu Collective purchases selected clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories for resale. Acceptance of items is based on brand, condition, style, seasonality, authenticity, inventory needs, and current market demand.

Submission of items does not guarantee purchase.

2. Estimates

Any estimate provided before physical inspection of an item is a preliminary estimate only.

Final offers may increase, decrease, or remain unchanged after items have been reviewed in person.

Factors that may affect a final offer include, but are not limited to:

  • Actual item condition

  • Stains, damage, or odors

  • Missing pieces or accessories

  • Authenticity concerns

  • Market demand

  • Style and seasonality

Sellers are under no obligation to accept a final offer.

3. Item Condition

Items submitted should be clean and accurately represented.

Sellers agree to disclose any known flaws, including but not limited to:

  • Stains

  • Tears

  • Missing buttons

  • Broken zippers

  • Alterations

  • Odors

  • Excessive wear

Failure to disclose significant flaws may result in a reduced offer or refusal of an item.

4. Ownership of Items

By submitting items for evaluation, the seller confirms that:

  • They are the legal owner of the items.

  • The items are authentic.

  • The items are free from liens or ownership disputes.

  • They have the legal right to sell the items.

The ReNu Collective reserves the right to refuse any item believed to be counterfeit, stolen, or materially misrepresented.

5. Acceptance of Offers

Once a seller accepts a final offer and payment has been issued, ownership of all accepted items permanently transfers to The ReNu Collective.

Accepted items cannot be returned after payment has been issued.

6. Declined Items & Return Shipping

Sellers are under no obligation to accept any offer.

If a seller declines an offer and requests the return of their items, return shipping and handling fees may apply.

For Blind ReFresh™ submissions, sellers are responsible for return shipping costs associated with any items for which they decline ReNu's purchase offer.

Sellers may choose to have declined items donated rather than returned.

7. Express ReFresh

Express ReFresh is a convenient, no-return service.

Payment is based on the final accepted weight and overall quality of qualifying items. Accepted items may qualify for payment between $1.00 and $4.00 per accepted pound, with exceptional items potentially receiving a higher payout at The ReNu Collective's discretion.

Items that do not meet The ReNu Collective's current brand, condition, authenticity, or acceptance standards will not be included in the final accepted weight calculation.

All items submitted through Express ReFresh™ become the property of The ReNu Collective and are not eligible for return.

8. ReFresh Commitment Fee

DIY ReFresh™ and Blind ReFresh™ services require a ReFresh Commitment Fee.

The ReFresh Commitment Fee helps offset the costs associated with shipping materials, prepaid shipping labels, processing, and evaluation.

Depending on the size, quality, and value of the accepted sale, a partial or full credit of the ReFresh Commitment Fee may be applied.

Exceptional submissions may qualify for a full ReFresh Commitment Fee credit.

If no items are accepted for purchase, the ReFresh Commitment Fee is non-refundable.

Clients have up to six (6) months from the date of purchase to use their selected ReFresh service.

9. Payment

Payment may be issued after the seller accepts a final offer and all required processing has been completed.

Any applicable ReFresh Commitment Fee credits may be applied at that time.

Available payment methods may include:

  • Venmo

  • PayPal

  • Check

Payment timing may vary depending on the selected ReFresh service.

10. Shipping

Prepaid shipping materials and shipping labels may be provided based on the selected ReFresh service.

Sellers are responsible for providing accurate information regarding item counts, shipment details, and any other requested information.

Additional shipping costs resulting from inaccurate information provided by the seller may remain the seller's responsibility.

If The ReNu Collective significantly underestimates shipping costs, a partial or full reimbursement may be provided at ReNu's discretion.

11. Shipment Risk

Sellers are responsible for securely packaging their items for shipment.

The ReNu Collective is not responsible for items lost, stolen, delayed, or damaged during transit before they are received. Sellers are encouraged to retain shipment tracking information until delivery has been confirmed.

12. Right to Refuse Items

The ReNu Collective reserves the right to refuse any item for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Poor condition

  • Excessive wear

  • Counterfeit concerns

  • Odors

  • Safety concerns

  • Lack of resale demand

  • Current inventory needs

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The ReNu Collective's liability for any claim arising from the submission, evaluation, shipment, or purchase of items shall not exceed the amount actually paid by The ReNu Collective for the items at issue.

The ReNu Collective shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the submission, evaluation, shipment, or sale of items.

14. Changes to These Terms

The ReNu Collective reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time.

The version in effect at the time a seller purchases a ReFresh service or submits items will govern that transaction.
